Let's face it, the kids do have to have some entertainment during the summer (if you plan on staying sane). One of the cool games it the three legged race. What is so great is that parents and kids can play this game together. You can match the parent child couples or the children with children as competing teams. (It does work better if the matching couple is the same height!) You tie a left leg with right leg so that each player is facing in the same direction. Have a starting line and the finish line very well defined, and of course offer a prize for the team that crosses first. It is fun and entertaining for all parties involved.

Summers can be hot so of course all the kids love to play games in the water. No matter what you do get a small portable pool or just play with the water, kids are going to love it. The point is, it is refreshing and entertaining. What kids love the most is playing with water guns and jumping in the pool. If you are not in the mood to spend money on the bubble toys, all you really need is some wire shaped into circle, a mixture of water and soap and let the fun begin.

If you do want some creativity and entertainment combined in two, then making a tepee. What you need for this is a white clean sheet and a place to hang (preferably outside so you don't have to clean up). You will need to invest into some basic paint (various of colors), and let them have fun. This is going to be artistic piece so make sure they are rewarded with having it hang in a special place, maybe their room.
